Elsia and Peter

Magic in the Australian outback. Balingup is a 3 hour drive from Perth south-west. 202 guests! Romano, the great chef and his team created the antipasto, entree, main course and dessert in the middle of a paddock of a farm. (Fine Food of Margaret River & Margaret River Jam &Co). 2 main tents (10x30m)+(6x10m) were from Lonsdale Party hire. The 4 Raj Pergola tents, furniture and all the magic came from Villa Kula.

The road to the farm a 20 minutes drive.

Scare Crows where all over the farm.

I had a FABULOUS team for the day. They ALL gave 150% to make it all happen. More photos to come. It was such a huge day!!!!

THE END

My last THANK YOU is going to Margery from Misty Valley Views.

Through my line of work I meet many wonderful and talented people. Marg looked after me while I was staying in Balingup. She is an amazing and inspirational person and I was lucky to have met her. Her property is overlooking the magical misty valley while you are having a cooked breakfast with the LOT. If you like a relaxing 'Getaway", this is the place to be. I certainly will be back with my family!

Balingup Wedding

My next wedding is on Sunday 26 April 2009. Elsia and Peter hired me on the 23 January this year. Their wedding is to be on Elsia's Mum and Dad's old farm just 15 minutes into the bush from Balingup. Mobile phones do not work! Balingup is not far from Bridgetown. This has been quite a challenge for all, because everything has to be brought in for the 200 guests. Here are the 'before' photos, so stay tuned for the photos after the wedding.

Fara Fashion

I have been wanting to meet Fara for a long time and today I had this honor. Some people have it and some people don't, but Fara certainly knows how to read her clients wishes. With in 20 minutes she sketched a dress for my client which was so very perfect for her. I was just amazed! I wish I could have screamed:"I am next!" You need a wedding dress made for you, go and see Fara at Fara Fashion. Down to earth, easy going - just the perfect person to design your gown and you will love her prices too.

I was invited...

I was invited to a wedding this weekend and I enjoyed every bit of it. I met Ken and his beautiful wife Julie many years ago at Toastmasters. Abby who happened to be our Toastmasters President who also happened to be a celebrant performed the ceremony. Julie and Ken had 78 guests at their backyards wedding. I must say backyard weddings are becoming very popular!

For the processional, two beautiful girls singing like angles.

Julie and Ken - like we say in Germany "A saucepan found it's lit" A match made in heaven!

Thank you for letting me share your beautiful day together.

A Magic Dust tip - check out potential supplier reputations before you book...

A Magic Dust tip - check out potential supplier reputations before you book...

I'm constantly amazed that we don't get asked more questions by couples about weddings we've worked on, and couples they can talk to about the Magic Dust experience! It's so very important that you not only feel confident and comfortable with every supplier you ask to work on your wedding, but that you do your homework and check out their credentials before you part with a single penny.

At Magic Dust we actively offer potential clients the opportunity to speak to now-married couples who have recently worked with Magic Dust. We treasure our client feedback, rarely have to ask for it, and are delighted that we have never had a single Magic Dust client who hasn't been happy to offer to speak to new clients on our behalf.

It's far too easy for unscrupulous suppliers to make up testimonials for their website - we have first-hand experience of having our client testimonials copied word-for-word by another wedding planner! We see brand new wedding supplier websites appear with dozens of testimonials already listed on their site - it doesn't take a genius to work out that there's something fishy about this type of activity.

So, please don't be afraid to ask your preferred wedding suppliers to put you in touch with a selection of recent clients that you can actually talk to. Good companies will not hesitate to give you this information because they know how hard they've worked for each and every honest testimonial, and how powerful it is to have satisfied customers telling potential customers how much they valued the services of that supplier. Be wary of any supplier who won't give you this information and please, cross them off your list. If they haven't got strong, honest feedback from clients, do you really want to risk the happiest day of your life in their hands?

Happy wedding planning and here's to all those honest, decent companies in the wedding industry - together with vigilant couples we'll weed out the rotten apples!

Until next time,

Tammy x
