Did you know that there are a lot of brides blogging? They are so passionate, creative and taking their time to find fabulous ideas around the world, that they are happy to share them with the rest of the weddings nuts out there. (Like me!!)
I recently had the pleasure of meeting two of them. West Aussie Wedding and Amour Amour, who only just got married.
West Aussie Wedding, has a great sense of humour, and is certainly a fabulous daily read to anyone who is planning a wedding in WA.

Last night I held another wedding workshop at Tompkins Park. I trust brides, grooms, mothers and friends had a fabulous time and again everyone was quite surprised in what they learned - even the vendors!!

Music is such a personal choice. Music can create different moods for anyone. Background music for dinner, cocktail music, ceremony music - music for dancing, choices are endless.
To create the right mood for your wedding day, you have to choose your music for the day.
Start a spread sheet as early as possible and collect the songs and artists of the music you both like to hear throughout your ceremony and reception.

While you can not walk down the aisle with a song from AC/DC in the church, you can if you have your ceremony in a park for example. Your guests may not like your choice of music for your processional, but please consider your guests at your reception or most of your guests will finish their 3 course meal before you even started!

When I hold the budgets for my clients I see where the couple distributing their money.
50% of the budget is eaten up by the food and drinks for the reception.
Good food is fantastic and plenty of drinks is without a question, but please entertain your guests.
Don’t overlook the impact that entertainment will have on your guests. Be creative!

To start with, choose a great MC. He/she should be well prepared and have the knowledge of the timeline for reception. He/she should effectively direct the pacing and flow of the events.

Do play some unique games – search the internet for them. DJ’s can often help you with that.
Find those hidden talents in your family – may be some one can do some card tricks or would like to sing a song karaoke style.
Hire a floor show from an agency. Dancers performing a tango or some fire throwers.

Keep your guests involved and entertained and you and your guests will remember your wedding day forever!

Seating Charts are often overlooked by the bride and groom, but it is part of an important element to make the evening flow in harmony.

When guests arrive at the reception venue, they like to know where they will sit.
I see it all the time that the ladies would love to find their allocated seat in order to free their hands from their handbag and jacket/shawl.
Now they have their hands free to enjoy their pre-dinner drinks or just mingle with the other guests.

Some reception venues offer you this service by providing you with a basic seating chart, but why not carry through your theme with your seating chart?

Choosing your bridesmaids is not an easy task. Perhaps she is a sister, or a very close friend; her friendship and support of the marriage is meaningful. A bridesmaid and/or maid of honour serves a practical purpose. During the hectic time of planning a wedding, she is a confidant, helps you in making the right decisions, does menial tasks, errand runner and more. A bride should have at least one bridesmaid (preferably the maid of honour) who is reliable, cheerfully helpful and organized.

Bridesmaids generally pay for all of their own attire; however you should consider giving your bridesmaid a gift for being an attendant as a thank you. If they only have limited funds you may like to help them out in more ways than one.
Do remember they are your friends and not your slaves!
